Riverhouse Apartment

Built within the first LEED certified condominium building in New York City, this 4000 square foot penthouse is the result of the combination of two apartments handed over by the building sponsor as a blank canvas. The project was designed for a couple, their first child and as a pied-a-terre for the grandparents. An adjacent one bedroom apartment unit was connected to function as the pied-a-terre. The priority became relocating the kitchen and dining areas to develop a contiguous suite of living areas along the west facing 1000 square foot terrace. A combination of modern and historically referential detailing was brought to the renovation.
