Hillsdale House

Designed for a couple, their two children and their friends and family as a winter weekend escape from New York City, the complex of small structures collect them selves on the side of a sunny south facing slop with a spectacular view. The buildings relate to one another in an informal and idiosyncratic way in the manner of the local farm houses and barns. The owners loving the out of doors and happy in the cold climate of the northeast, asked that the building be glassy, open and modern with outdoor rooms and porches heated by fireplaces and spaces that capture the views of both the forest and the valley below.
